On the 2nd day, Phil, Megan and I broke from the pack. It was pouring cats and dogs at sunrise, so we didn't have high hopes (or really any hope at all), but took a trip out to Zabriskie Point anyway. When we got there, the area was socked in fog. But after a couple of minutes, it cleared, and boy did we get some awesome views!

It's rare to get stormy weather at Death Valley. I felt so fortunate to be able to capture these unique shots.
On occasion the sun would break through the clouds and light up the colorful hills.

Death Valley's lesser known volcano, Mt. Delphine.
After Zabriskie Point, Phil and I took a chance and did a drivethrough of Artist's Drive. We weren't disappointed! Views were spectacular!

We lucked out big time at Artist's Pallet. The skies cleared and allowed us to get this textured shot as well as some stormy shots.
