Garden District and Audubon Park, New Orleans

I stayed in the Garden District of New Orleans during my visit to Tulane. The Parkview B&B was stately, historic, and magnificent, and very characteristic of the old wealth feel of the neighborhood.

The interior of the B&B was filled with antique and rich furnishings.

Massive oaks line St. Charles Avenue, adding to the historic and residential feel.

Charming and unique historic houses lining St. Charles Avenue.

Mmm... yummy French pastries and rich soups...

Audubon Park is located across the street from Tulane University.
Gotta love a park with a dancing female statue at the entrance.

Audubon Park is still flooded two years after Katrina.
(Ha ha, just kidding. This mini-lake is a beautiful attraction in the park)

Massive old-growth trees survived just fine through Katrina.

What a serene place to jog or walk. A frazzled first year law student's dream!

The mini-lake attracts diverse floating and nesting waterfowl.

Massive oaks dwarf the enthusiastic rollerbladers below.
